Jet has 17 years of teaching/coaching experience as a Position Coach, Coordinator and Head Boys/Girls Track Coach in Texas. Growing up in the Abilene area, he knew from an early age he wanted to be involved with coaching in some form. His parents, Pat and Saundra Carriker, had a huge influence on him and his little brother - both were house parents at the Hendrick Home for Children and Ben Rickey Boys Ranch in Abilene. The environment in which he was raised was based on selflessness and the betterment of others. Seeing his parents having a common goal of helping young people break the cycle was empowering to Jet. His little brother Janson Carriker played baseball and graduated from TCU '09. Janson works in the medical field helping others as he too was influenced by Pat and Saundra. After finishing his collegiate football career, Jet started on the journey of becoming a member of one of the noblest professions, teaching. He believes that teaching and coaching have the most powerful impact on young people. He gets to inspire young people to do things that they did not think was possible. Jet has a commitment to cultivating and empowering each player/student he encounters. His passion for coaching and teaching is evident in the lasting relationships he makes with his players and students. Jet and his wife Stephanie reside in Forney, TX, with their two children, Jeaux and Reagan. |
